Guitar Site Reading
Click on the music to play each string remember on the six string guitar we use the treble clef:
Music is written on five lines and four spaces – read the treble from bottom to top. Our lines are E – G – B – D – F – Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. The Spaces from bottom to top F – A – C – E this spells the word Face.
Our guitar chart is where we press down on each open note. Open notes are our strings. This is where we get a new mindset and refer to our strings to open notes, it makes it easy to to read music. We read our guitar chart from top to bottom. Each fret is a half step for example from the open note E to the first fret is a half step and the note is F same with B to C is also half a step – that’s because there are no sharps or flats between E and F as well as B to C. Still with our natural notes – F on the first fret to G on the third fret is a whole step.
